Christmas season Without a doubt, the Christmas
season is here. Perhaps the Christmas carols we hear, the Christmas decorations we see, and the atmosphere of good will
in our neighborhoods contribute to the excitement found this time of the year. Some of us may have already bought gifts
for our loved ones, while others may still be planning to. Be that as it may, we enjoy the spirit of the season: the
gift of God’s faithfulness and love through His Son.
SNCC anticipates a great celebration of Christ’s birth. 2011
has been an exciting, albeit challenging year. In terms of outreach, we had the best VBS attendance
in years, replaced our church sign, had the largest clambake attendance ever; and blanketed Baldwin Harbor with invitations
to join us in “National Church Sunday.” On Halloween night, we offered hot chocolate and gospel literature to
passers-by; and we hosted a Thanksgiving Pitch-in-Dinner to honor our veterans. Moreover, as a community service,
we had food and dry goods drives for the Interfaith Nutrition Network and for the devastated village of Prattsville, NY. God
provided through unexpected financial gifts and designated donations from generous individuals. This enabled us to make repairs
and improvements to our facilities. We’ve upgraded our aging and failing video and audio systems,
installed a much needed window treatments throughout the educational wing, and repaired the hurricane-damaged bulkhead. Nevertheless, it pains us to mention that the effects of our weakened
national economy have impacted many of us. Consequently, in the past two years, our weekly giving has been short of
the budgeted amount we need to carry out God’s work. We continue to strive diligently to manage our finances prudently.
Yet, we believe that God is stretching us to be more generous. If you a a part of the SNCC family, we ask
you to consider two things: Keep your church in consistant prayer. God is doing some great tings here, yet we are convinced
that He desires so much more. James taught the importance of asking "You have not because you ask not" (James 4:2).
And along with prayer, ask God to show you how you can increase your contribution. Thank you so much for your thoughtful consideration.
May you and your love ones have a gracious Christmas celebration. Merry Christmas!
Christ is born!

Invite some oneSouth Nassau Christian Church is participating in Back to
Church Sunday, a national movement of churches to encourage formerly churched people to rediscover church and try it again.
According to LifeWay Research, 38 percent of people are receptive or highly receptive to attending church. 82 percent say
they would be open to attending church if a friend invited them. But, unfortunately only 2 percent of active church-going
Christians invited someone to church last year! South Nassau Christian Church is joining with thousands of churches to help
change those statistics by inviting everyone to attend church on September 18.
